Sorry, it's been a while since I've posted. I've been keeping pretty busy with work and friends and what not, and I guess the lack of desire might be playing a factor as well.

I brought home my first full pay check the other day, it was an astounding $857.80.

There is not a whole lot to do out here, it seems like on my days off we go swimming in the river somewhere, or just hang out at someone's house. It's always good fun though. I've put myself with good kids that don't make stupid choices and aren't trouble makers (for the most part).

I'm starting another five day stretch of work today, I'll be off again on Sunday.


Besides all of that, there is really not a whole lot to post about, sorry. But I will post about the next interesting thing that comes up!!

I'm pondering a change in travel plans. Since I am making some good money here in Jackson, I may stay until the end of December. This way, I'll have most of tuition paid for (if i can save what I'm saving now).

In which case, I'd hang around here and board and what not.

I don't know yet, just a thought that keeps returning.

So, I played to a new strategy this Sunday. Held back the first half and then took center stage when everyone was getting tired. It was a valiant performance in a losing effort if I don't say so myself.

These foreign players are a bunch of babies, they whine at everything. They are dirty too. You know, I'm just out there minding my own business, and its like once you get a goal (or two in this case) under your belt, their sole purpose on earth is to hack the bejesus out of your ankles, with or without the ball.

Anyway, we ended up losing to Mexico 5-3. It was a good game, we were down 3-0 early in the second half and we tied it up about half way through the half. I had the first two goals and the assist. Defense got tired and well, the score says the rest.



Work has been going pretty well, had a few days off this last weekend. Went wakeboarding with Paige again after my game, always a good time.

Besides that, not a whole lot has been going on. Sorry for the short post and lack of pictures again, I promise to get some up soon (cough cough mom, send the camera cough).

Quick Post while I'm sitting here at work.


The soccer game went well. The have official rules, so only three subs a game and once you're subbed out, you're done. Anyway, I started the game and played the first half and twenty minutes in the second half. A few minutes into the second half, with a 1-0 lead, I turned on "The Tucker Show." I beat about four people in a row went on a breakaway sidestepped teh goalie and sent up Heracio for a goal. It was pretty crazy and I was in utter ectasy.

Okay, just kidding. But I really did give the assist to Heracio who put us up 2-0, and I did really beat one guy.

The entire league is Hispanic. I went a little early to my game to watch a few others, and out of the 6 different teams I saw, I was the only white kid.

Took me a while to earn trust with the other guys handling the ball, but by the beginning of the second half it was second nature to yell "Si! Medio," and have the ball passed to me.

I felt I was right about average with everyone. There were definitely a few guys better than me, but I could tell I was more skilled than many as well. One thing I was surprised about was their lack of physicality (If that's a word). It seems like people are always dogging America for being rather weak and not playing physical, but I don't recall being pushed off the ball once, and I know I ousted a couple guys a few times.

Anyway, it ended as a good game. We won 4-0.

The neat thing about this league, is that every team's uniforms are of some professional team in Mexico. If I was caught up on my Spanish I'd let ya know what team I am, but I've never seen the jersey before so I have no idea. Len, maybe you'd know.

I'll get around to posting picture when I get some. I left my camera behind enemy lines back home, so I am waiting for that to be shipped out. Maybe I'll have father come out to the next game and take some pictures, and I'll grab the ones of my wakeboarding from Paige and McKenzie.

Here is a little west side of the country update.

I've really been up to no good lately. If I'm not working (which is practically everyday) I'm out and about with friends and what not.

I've been to the palisades a few times to go wake boarding, we usually go every sunday. It's always a good time, out on the water with friends just hanging out in the nice weather.

As nice as it is, the wether out here is rather scary. It has been dry, very dry. It's actually on record as being more dry this summer than in the summer of 1988 when the Yellowstone fires occured.

I have woken up a few mornings already to the smell of smoke in the valley. South Yellowstone had a fire burn about 1500 acres about a week ago, and Horse Creek (about 35 miles southwest of me) had a fire burn for about a week devastating about 5000 acres. The other night, Idaho Falls had a scare with a fire as well. It was put out the same night, however. I was in town and saw the flames rising from the mountains. It really is quite frightening. We'll keep our fingers crossed for the town of Victor!!

Besides the weather, everything else out here is fantastic. My job is going well and the people out here are very warm and welcoming. The only downside right now, is that my car is in the shop. Which means, I am driving a 1977 Checy pick-up over the pass every day. It uses about a quarter tank of gas every time I go to and from work. At $90 to fill both tanks on it, it's getting rather annoying.

I joined a men's soccer league here in Jackson. It is mainly hispanics like Armando, whom I work with. Everyone I've told out here says that they should all be pro's except that no one ever comes to Jackson. I guess we'll see how it goes and where I feel I stand. I'll post about the first game, which is tomorrow (7/8).
